Team Photos – watch us grow!

Our Origin Story

Debo and Brandy worked together in the lab at CCF back in the day. Pumpkin and Sunshine they called each other. They had done the BikeMS “Pedal to the Point” together many times. After finishing the ride in 2014, Debo suggested that Brandy start a BikeMS team for the 2015 event. Brandy did, and Team Sunshine was born. She invited some family and friends, and we continue to add more family and friends of friends each year. Sometimes new friends join us who have experienced our infectious, positive attitude and camaraderie on the rides.
Or maybe they love our amazing jerseys that make everyone smile.

We grew from 8 riders that first year to 51 cyclists in 2019.

Then, all the formal rides went virtual in 2020 because of Covid. Humbug. So we organized our own fully supported 75-mile BikeMS event and invited everyone. Gracious volunteers provided SAG and EMS, while the Masons manned the rest stops and paid for snacks and lunch.
We even had Mary the Lunch Lady.
On August 1, 2020, we had over 60 riders, representing 5 teams, come out to ride and raised $25,000 to help crush MS.

In our first 9 years, we have raised over $225,000
in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis.

Bike MS is our origin story and will always be a centerpiece of our efforts, but we want to do more. In 2021 we had the opportunity to sponsor the first and only ride in support of Alzheimer’s research in Ohio. In just three short years, the Sunshine Ride to Remember has raised over $30,000 for Alzheimer’s research and we hope to grow that each year.

In 2022, Team Sunshine received IRS approval as a 501(c)3 charity.
We ride bikes, make friends, have fun and raise money for charity.
That’s us. You should join us.
If you can’t join us, please consider a donation.

Team Sunshine is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization (EIN 88-2124518).
