Saturday, May 18 – Marilyn’s Ride, Reversed!

Meet behind Townhall near 25th and Lorain

Arrive for a 9:00 am start

Route Overview: Townhall to Lock 39 – 20 miles

Details: Ride thru Tremont and follow Towpath (paved) south to Lock 39 trailhead at Rockside Rd. Reverse, return to Townhall. Optional lunch.


Saturday, May 25 – John’s Ice Cream Ride

Meet at Rocky River Park, 20250 Beach Cliff Rd, Rocky River

Arrive for a 9:00 am start

Route Overview: Lake Road west to Miller Rd Park – 25 miles

Details: Beachcliff to Avalon, turn right (west) onto Lake Rd to Miller Rd Park. Rest stop at park building. Bathrooms but no vending. Reverse, return to start. Optional ice cream stop, going and/or coming, at Huntington Beach Park. Optional ice cream stop afterwards at Mitchell’s.


Sunday, June 2 – RIP R. Shea Ride

Meet at Lock 29 lot behind Century Cycles off Route 303 in Peninsula

Arrive for a 10:00 am start

Route Overview: Peninsula to Lock 15 Brewing – 26 miles

Details: R. Shea is dead. Long Live Lock 15. We take Akron-Penisula Rd south thru the valley to Merriman Valley. We pause for a moment of silence outside R. Shea, then follow the path south into Akron to North Street. Hydration stop at Lock 15 (opens 11 am). Heading back, we follow side streets past Dr. Bob’s grave. At Merriman Valley, we take Riverview Rd north. Cross over at IRA hoping to see the heron rookery, then Akron-Peninsula Road back to the start. Optional lunch at Winking Lizard (opens 11 am)

Saturday, June 15 – Rick’s Ride

Meet behind Mike’s Bar & Grille, 130 Front Street, Berea

Arrive for a 9:00 am start

Route Overview: Berea to Lakewood – 30 miles

Details: From Mike’s, drop into Metroparks and follow parkway north to Rocky River marina. Rest stop at marina. Reverse, return to start. Optional lunch at Mike’s Bar & Grille (sponsor). Opens 11 am.


Saturday, June 22 – Ride to Remember – for ALZ

Meet at Wallace Lake off Valley Parkway in Berea

60-miles roll out at 10 am. 30 milers start at 11 am.

Route Overview: The 60-mile route proceeds north (left) from Wallace Lake. Rest stop and turn around at Rocky River marina, then return to Wallace Lake (water stop) and then follow the 30-mile route. The 30-mile route proceeds south (right). The route is mostly flat except for one climb around mile 9. Turn around at Brecksville Rd (Rt 21). Water stop at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church right after the turn around. Follow the Valley Parkway back to Wallace Lake.

Sunday, June 30 – Phil’s Ride

Meet at Huntington Bank, 560 Broad St in Elyria

Arrive for an 8:30 am start

Route Overview: North Coast Inland Trail to Wakeman and back – 38 miles

Details: Take W. 2nd to NCIT. Rest stop at Wakeman Grain Elevator. Reverse and return. Optional lunch at Foundry Kitchen afterwards (opens 10:00 am).


Sunday, July 7 – Five or Four Script Signs Ride

Meet at Lakewood Park

Arrive for a 9:00 am start

Route Overview: Tour Cleveland to see 4 (25 mi) or 5 (40 mi) of the Script Cleveland signs

Details: The airport sign is too scary on a bike , so we stop at 5 of 6 signs max, 40 miles. Euclid Beach is kinda far, so 25 milers see 4 signs. Down Lake to Edgewater (1), thru Public Square to the Rock Hall (2) and out the north marginal. 25-milers turn at E. 55th street while 40-milers continue out marginal to Euclid Beach (5). Take E. 55th to St. Clair right down into the flats (3). Climb to Tremont (4) then W. 28th to Edgewater and back to finish at Lakewood Park.


Saturday, July 13 – Dog Days Wine Tour

Fee Ride – TRAINING RIDE.

Meet at Oberlin College, Knowlton Athletics Complex, in Oberlin

Rolling start 6:30 to 10:00, but we will arrive for a 7:30 am TEAM start

Route Overview: Scenic tour of Lorain county with stops at 2, 3, or 4 wineries. 28, 50 and 64 mile routes available. Rest stops and SAG provided. FEE RIDE.

Rolling start 6:30 to 8:00, but arrive for a 7:30 am group start

Route Overview: Scenic and challenging tour of Summit, Medina and Wayne counties. 25, 50, 62 and 100 mile routes available. Lunch, rest stops and SAG provided. FEE RIDE.

Meet at Rego’s Market, Hunt & W. 130th, Strongsville

Arrive for a 8:00 am start

Route Overview: Follow Kyle south, east, west and north through rural Ohio. 40 miles.

Sunday, July 28 – Brandy’s New Ride

Meet at Bonnie Park Picnic Area, Metroparks, Strongsville

Arrive for a 7:30 am start

Route Overview: Circle Greater Cleveland on Parkway and Towpath for 65 mile loop

Details: Follow the Valley Parkway south from Bonnie Park, up past Nemesis and down to Boston Mills in the Cuyahoga Valley. Follow the towpath to Tremont, thru Edgewater, past the marina and back to Bonnie Park. There are a few serious climbs in the first 20 miles, but otherwise fairly flat. Rest stops at Boston Store (mile 20). Merwin’s Wharf (mile 41) and the Rocky River Marina (mile 50). There are two tricky spots so GPS and directions will be provided. Optional lunch afterwards at Mike’s, FatHead’s, or other nearby watering hole. A route that does NOT include unpaved towpath will be provided.

Meet in the Barrel Room inside Fat Heads Brewery, 17450 Engle Lake Rd, Middleburg Hts.

Arrive anytime between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm

Overview: Packet Pickup for Buckeye Breakaway

Details: Come and socialize with teammates, have some food and beer, bring the whole family – or just pop in to get your goodies. We will have your MS packet with bib numbers, wrist bands, t-shirt and luggage tags. We will also have your new team jersey, t-shirt, water bottles and other swag like hoodies and sleeves. This is your ONLY chance to get your MS packet and your team gear before ride day. You cannot ride without the wrist band.


Saturday & Sunday, August 10/11 – Pedal to the Point

Meet at Baldwin Wallace University, Union parking lot, off Tressel St., Berea

Arrive for 6:00 am pictures and a 6:30 am start

Route Overview: Follow clearly marked routes along open roads and trails exploring Cleveland’s expanding bike network. Enjoy 10, 30 or 60 mile route options. Something for all ages and abilities. Rest stops and SAG provided. Box lunch or food truck. FEE RIDE.

Route Overview: Scenic tour around Catawba Island. 30 miles. Rest stops and SAG provided. Finish at Twin Oast Brewing. Proceeds benefit Eriesponsible efforts to protect Lake Erie. Free pint glass and one beverage included. Fee Ride.

Saturday, October 19 – WALK for ALZ

Optional Event for those touched by Alheimer’s.

Meet at Cleveland MetroParks Zoo.

Arrive at 8:30. Opening remarks at 8:45. Walk at 9 am.

Route Overview: Take a casual stroll thru the zoo with others who have been touched by Alzheimer’s and other dementia. While there is no fee to register for Walk, all participants are encouraged to raise critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure.
